Content Repurposing 101: Tips for Business Owners
A lot of business owners are stuck in this cycle of creating something, posting it once, and immediately moving onto the next thing. New reel, new caption, new email, new blog, new ideaβ¦ every single day. Itβs exhausting! Itβs also not necessary, considering most business owners already have WAY more content than they realize sitting inside their business already. Old captions, podcast episodes, client questions, email newsletters, voice notes, blogs, trainingsβ¦ thereβs usually a gold mine of content hiding in plain sight.
Repurposing content is one of the easiest ways to save time, stay visible online, and stop feeling like you have to constantly reinvent the wheel every time you open Instagram. So if youβre newer to content repurposing or trying to figure out how to actually use it in your business, this is your beginner-friendly guide!

What is Content Repurposing?
Content repurposing is a strategy that has been around for a long time but has recently been discussed in the online space! Itβs essentially a way for you to work smarter, not harder, by taking one piece of content and repurposing the main points into multiple pieces of content across different platforms. Instead of constantly creating NEW ideas every day, youβre pulling more value, visibility, and mileage out of the content you already have. This is how a lot of bigger creators and businesses stay consistent online without being glued to their phone 24/7!
What Types of Content are Great for Repurposing?
Pretty much all of it! If you are creating any type of content, I guarantee it can be repurposed into another form. Long-form content works especially well because there are usually SO many ideas packed into one piece. But even shorter pieces of content can be repurposed too. You can use content repurposing to create social media posts, blog posts, freebies, email newsletters, course content, podcasts, videos, and more! I have clients where I turn their podcasts into blog posts or even social media posts into new social media posts. The possibilities are endless!
Which Kinds of Business Owners Can Repurpose Content?
Any business owner creating content to put out into the online space can utilize the magic of content repurposing. But content repurposing is ESPECIALLY helpful for podcasters, coaches, course creators, service providers, YouTubers and bloggers. If youβre spending time creating content, you should be getting as much visibility out of it as possible. As long as you have one piece of pillar content and multiple platforms in your business, then you should be repurposing your content to maximize your message.
The Biggest Repurposing Mistake I See
A lot of people hear βrepurposingβ and immediately think copy/paste. Thatβs usually where things go wrong. Good repurposing is about ADAPTING content for different platformsβ¦ not dumping the exact same thing everywhere. You take the same core message, but use a different delivery depending on the platform youβre posting on.
Content Repurposing Strategies for Every Business
Content repurposing has completely changed the way I approach content creation, and honestly, I donβt know how business owners are surviving constantly trying to create everything from scratch every single day! Repurposing allows you to get more visibility out of the content you already worked hard to create instead of letting it disappear after one post, email, or podcast episode. It also makes content creation feel SO much less overwhelming. Did this help you get to understand content repurposing even more? If not, letβs get in touch and I would be more than happy to share how content repurposing can help you business!
